Day 68

Today I learned that March 14 is Pi Day, when nerds around the world (myself included, from now on) rejoice, discuss math, and eat pie. So… it’s basically just an excuse to eat pie. And as if that wasn’t awesome enough, today is also Albert Einstein’s birthday.

Today I meditated for 20 minutes, focusing on mindfulness of breathing, thoughts, and sounds.

Today I acted compassionately by giving a sincere, meaningful, in-person compliment to someone whose family member passed away last weekend and who was therefore having a rough day. Her response was very happy/surprised, and the interaction was so positive that it brightened my day too.

“It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.”

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
