Day 44

Today I learned about what it was like to be a child in Syria during World War II (imagine hiding in your chimney, terrified from seeing an armed German soldier for the first time, and then him giving you, now covered in soot, your first ever piece of chocolate). I also learned about the pollination techniques of flowers.

Today I meditated for 15 minutes.

Today I acted kindly by encouraging someone in the cashier line-up to go before me, and by bringing birthday dessert for (and having dinner with) the now-81-year-old woman from Day 30’s compassion action. (Bonus! Some awesome recent compassion actions by others here and here.)
