Day 29

Today I learned that the beautiful Veiled Vestal sculpture, featured in the 2005 Pride & Prejudice movie, was crafted out of marble by Raffaelle Monti in 1846 and is displayed at the Chatsworth House in England (also featured in the movie). Vestals were virgin priestesses in ancient Rome who dedicated their lives to Vesta (the goddess of hearth, home, and family), tending to the sacred fire at her alter and therefore to the safety of Rome.

Today I meditated for 15 minutes.

Today I acted compassionately by loading groceries for a lady who only had one arm, and by spending time with seniors at the local retirement residence (like on Day 21).
